Online Business Marketing

Online business marketing is key to success in today’s marketplace. Call (832) 884-1330 to learn more!

The key to increasing the sales conversion rate with online business marketing is not merely increased exposure.

Relevant search engine traffic is necessary in order to achieve the desired results from any Internet advertising campaign.

Business marketing campaigns can no longer neglect the importance Internet arena.

Regardless of the industry that you are in, whether you are in industrial shelving or photography services, a roofing company or stud welding, spanning across all industries, all types of products and services, the importance of advertising online must no longer be neglected for business marketing success.

However, the search engine world is one that is key phrase based. Internet searchers discover what they are looking for by typing a key word or phrase into a search engine. From here, the search engine algorithms scan through their indexed listings to quickly provide results that based upon their formulae, are relevant to the searcher’s request.

Therefore, relevance, relevance, relevance can now replace the old adage, “location, location, location” when it comes to the success of a business marketing model.

The way to ensure that your company is included in the correct search engine results is to hire an expert in the field of SEO. There are about a hundred methods and often there is a great deal of man-hour time involved in ensuring the inclusion of various credible businesses in relevant key phrase search engine results.

Some methods are more effective than others, but the most successful SEO path of all lies within one word….diversification.

Sad will be the state of businesses who rely exclusively upon link building to fulfill their business marketing needs or exclusively upon any other form of SEO methodology.

The fact is that the search engine algorithms change and the only way to ensure that your business does not drop off the list of search engine results is to make sure that you have all of your bases covered when it comes to your online business marketing plan.

The Do’s and Don’ts of SEO Verses the Should’s and Shouldn’ts

As business owners, website promoters, web designers and website optimizers, we have no real choice but to conform to the standards set by the search engine companies like Google, Bing, Yahoo and others. It becomes less of a question of right or wrong, so much as a set of tasks to simply follow the rules in performing.

Ah, yes….of course, in a perfect world there would be one right way and one wrong way. It would all make sense and be the most practical for all involved to benefit. There would be no nonsensical parents saying, “Just do it because I said so and don’t ask why.”

Especially as computer folk, we prefer for 1+1 to equal 2. (not AP style guidelines, but I felt the actual numbers in this case made the point more clearly….:) However, life is so much more often that x+y equals 2 and you have to learn what “x” is and what “y” is today and then refresh your knowledge about “x” and “y” tomorrow otherwise you will end up with a 6 or a 52….

Why do languages evolve? Because people can’t follow the rules of “established” language and so are constantly creating new words and now it is ever more difficult to know all of the words that are legally established as correct….

The same is true in a sense with all other aspects of life and technology…. The human race seems incapable of agreeing upon the exact same definition for anything and sticking with it. There is beauty and frustration in that and such is the case with regard to the optimization of websites.

Due to the massive number of websites that currently exist and the ever-increasing number of websites being built….what may have been considered a simple task in previous years, the categorization of these websites and prioritization of such as they related to actual search inquiries from Internet users, the rules became a lot more complex and not all of the same rules have been followed by every search engine, but most importantly as it relates to this blog…the rationale of search engine expectations for categorization priorities have become a subject of great debate.

Why do we have to have a continuously evolving system for search engine listings, but the Dewey decimal system works just fine for librarians and has continued to work effectively for generations?

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the almighty dollar bill is not so very much involved in the categorization of library books as it is in the categorization of websites. (Just a thought…..)

For example….there are no spamming books that are clogging up the aisles at the library and attempting to prevent library visitors from reaching the actually informative book that they are looking for. Work at home scam artists are not hanging out around the library shelves whispering “pssssst!!!…..over here! wanna make some easy money fast???!!”

There does not seem to be any big conspiracy against libraries (for the most part…) with agencies attempting to burn out all of the library books.

The libraries hold less of a thrill for malicious jokesters to go into and start moving the books around into improper locations while sitting back and laughing at the librarians who have to hustle around the aisles in their comfortable nursing type shoes, tripping over the occasional shoelace and falling upon stacks of disheveled books as they attempt to clean up the mess that the “library hackers” have created just for the sake of a sick prank or goof. There is just not enough challenge in that and the security guards would have them out on their butts in the street pretty quickly and their buddies would ask them why the heck they did it, instead of giving them a pat on the back and laughing along with them.

Search engines have a very complex task when it comes to ensuring that websites are indexed correctly and in displaying the most informative and helpful websites to viewers on the first few pages out of the millions of listings that are seemingly relevant.

Sometimes it is for sure a wonder at how an article about elephants in China seems to make it to the top 30 listings of Google when a search on hardware for your kitchen cabinet is typed in, but hey….the search engine folks really do have a lot on their plate….

It may, however, be the very thing that many website owners complain about being a factor that contributes to these outrageously mis-indexed websites.

Linkbuilding is a hot topic for conversation with regard to one potentially fallible search engine interest. Why do search engines like to play this popularity contest? In some ways it definitely makes sense. Does anyone, other than the original website owner, believe that this website is worthy of attention? That’s the point of linkbuilding.

However, how many times do you think that the typical Internet searcher actually links to another website in one day, one month or even one year??

The behavior, “I think this is a great website, so I am going to link to it!” – Is what search engines apparently wish the general public would be doing so that they can identify the relevant listings as they connect to key search phrases. But perhaps that is an unrealistic ideal.

In the old days, the CTR (click through rate) or number of times that a website was visited was a major factor in search engine result listings and it certainly continues to be a part of the puzzle today. However, silly programmers many years ago decided to start making computer scripts that generated falsely automated visits to websites. Heck, if it meant everything in the positioning of a website, many business owners would be able to support themselves quite well with their websites by just hiring an employee to sit in front of a computer all day and click through to that website over and over and over again.

Realistically speaking, if a website is created strictly for informational purposes and without any sales or profit intent, then counting the number of relevant links to that website would be a viable method for checking the credibility of a website’s content. That is when people really put links out there to different websites….when the information is so grand that they absolutely must share it with others. It made them laugh. It made them cry. It made them sit back and say “Hmmmm….” In this sort of instance, utilizing link checking for search engine positioning is certainly a viable form of categorization prioritizing.

Unfortunately, a lot of excellent and informative content is also provided on websites that sell things. This means that the search engines would not be able to accurately divide all of the websites in the world into the 3 categories of strictly informational, ego websites, and business websites with products and services for sale.

In fact, a large percentage of strictly informational websites now have offerings within them for sale items. This is increasingly true, because why, would we in this commercial society, want to have any real estate at all that is not making us some dough?! Might as well make the most out of what you’ve got, right??

Therefore, the search engine’s ability to distinguish between the type of website for counting the links in comparisons, becomes rather inept.

Their solution to this, of course, is to have the search engine crawlers carefully measure the relevancy of the links from one site to the other…The percentage of corresponding data and so on and so forth… The credibility of sites linking from one site to the credibility of the sites being linked to…. But then, of course, the same methods being used to check the credibility of the website links is what creates the credibility in the first place and if you are at all dizzy by this point…that’s natural…it’s a circle of potential insanity for sure….

Many obsessive computer/website fiends describe in a great many commentaries, their complete frustration with the search engines taking anything other than website content into consideration.

Here’s the thing though…. CONTENT IS STILL KING…. I am not yelling…just using the caps for emphasis here. And again I will repeat, but in quieter letters…content is still king. For anyone who is buying up links from link farms and not paying attention to the content on their website and not making sure that new content is regularly added in the form of new web pages, blogs and articles…any success you have achieved is, rest assured, very short-lived.

Cheap, automated link farms can do you so much good that they can even get you de-indexed from search engines altogether! Using hidden links in your web pages is also a great way to make the search engine companies put you outside of the classroom to sit in the hall and “think about what you have done.” Meanwhile they will hand out candy and popcorn in your absence….

As much upset as the need for linkbuilding creates in the hearts and minds of those who want purity in website priority evaluation, what should still be kept in mind is that the content of a website continues to be the most important part of optimizing and receiving a good score in search engine result listings.

None of enjoy being patient, however, with time, a website that has been consistently adding good, informative content without let-up will be favored by the search engines. Good does win out over evil, but just not in the time frame that we would like.

It may be true that your website and product is new and that it is better than everyone elses and that you deserve to be at the top of the list right now and making the money that you would be receiving from great search engine positioning and excellent availability to your customers. However, to make this happen, you must have an SEO expert working on your website and taking all of the many detailed measures involved in poking the teacher in the ribs and saying….”Hey!…Hey! Give me some attention because I really am the one who studied hard last night!!!”

The squeaky wheel gets the oil…not necessarily the wheel that is in the best condition. If you focus on making sure that your website is as richly informative as it can be and use the expert services of an SEO company to take care of all of the many details involved in letting the search engines know that you are serious about what you do and that you will make their Internet search customers happy, then you will see results much more quickly that are actually lasting and help your business to grow.

Blog for Women

Blog for Women

Check out this new great blog for women. It’s just starting, but lots of informative content will be added as time progresses.

The variety of women’s issues and women’s discussions that can and should be had regularly abounds. This new blog, as well as a new website for women will slowly, but surely work through a large variety of topics that are of interest to women, about women and hopefully helpful to women and those interested in supporting women as they grow and progress in society, working toward the long-term goal of gender equality.

Many would like to believe that gender equality is already fully enacted, however, this is not true. There is still a great deal of work to be done for all of mankind to work together and to stop the violence against women, the subversive tactics used to keep women from various forms of leadership and in helping women to come out of the cloud of submission to men in the home, workplace and in society as a whole.

Women are strong and resourceful and the education effort and unification of women must continue to grow until we become the powerful force we are capable of being in the world today through partnerships in our professional and personal lives.
